Brill Schoningh
For more than 170 years, Brill | Schöningh has represented qualified scholarly publications in the fields of history, theology, pedagogy, and linguistics and literary studies. Founded in 1847 by bookseller Ferdinand Schöningh in Paderborn, the publishing house remained in family ownership for well over a century until it joined Brill N.V. in 2017, thereby successfully transforming into a modern scholarly publisher with a wide range of digital publications. The imprint publishes around 150 titles and several journals annually on program areas such as contemporary history, military history, and Eastern European history; Christian, Jewish, and Islamic theology; and Romance studies in the fields of linguistics and literature. Brill | Schöningh is a member and shareholder of UTB, a successful German marketing and sales organization for university textbooks.
